The Musician today is: Coast to Coast

Lainie Laughlin and Scott Lyle have been playing together since 2009, when the band 5Play came into existence. When the group disbanded they formed a duo and have been working together since. In November 2016 Corey Francis and Michelle Fillion, (The Broadfork Duo) moved from Victoria to Courtenay and purchased a 2 acre farm and started The Sweet Spread Farm. Corey and Scott had been playing together every chance they got since 2014 in the Comox Valley and in Victoria. In 2017 Coast to Coast came to life. Three different songwriters and three different tastes in music have blended to cover everything from soup to nuts. Roots, folk, country, swing, Americana, original tunes and anything else that moves them is brought to the table and worked into something that gives them all joy. They’re just getting into their stride after five years together and every tune new and old is getting reworked into their emerging voice. They hope to see you in the audience some evening and hope you enjoy what you hear.
