Helen Austin is a prolific singer/songwriter from the UK now living on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. Helen is no stranger to the stage and has worked as a professional performer for over 20 years, building a career as an award winning, musical comedian and regular headliner on the UK comedy circuit.
Austin's move to Canada in 2002 was the catalyst for her musical career. Ten years and six albums later, Helen is a prolific songwriter with many TV/movie placements, awards and competition wins under belt, the most recent being a Juno Nomination and a John Lennon Songwriting Contest Grand Prize win.
Her music has the DNA of Simon & Garfunkel and CSN&Y while being clothed in Iron & Wine and a folkier Feist and her melodies stay in your head long after hearing them. A regular MC and performer at Vancouver Island Musicfest, Helen is enormously comfortable on any stage has played many venues which range from thousands at Glastonbury Festival, UK, to intimate house concerts and everything in between.

Helen loves to put her music to good use through fundraising and has written music and lyrics for specific occasions such as her song "Relay", written to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay For Life event, which is now played at Relay events all over the world. Her music can also be found on albums such as 'Songs for the Cure' (Cancer Research) and 'Up, Up, Up' (Autism).

Helen's self-produced music videos getting over half a million viewers online, she has been earning accolades and acquiring fans from around the world. A popular entertainer in the Comox Valley, Austin is involved in many local projects including Voices Three, a trio that raises money and awareness for Hospice and Fiddljam, a local fiddle group of all ages and abilities.

Helen has several self produced album releases including her new Juno Nominated Children's's album - Always Be A Unicorn. She has also just finished working on a new album called You Knew Me with renowned producer, Bleu, in LA which will be out this year.
